Halifax County Crimestoppers Inc,
is proud to announce that the 100th person in the Most Wanted program has
been captured. Last Week Everette Shakar "Elho" Harry was captured after a
crimestopper tip. Harry was wanted by the Halifax County Sheriffs Office for
First degree kidnapping, attempted murder, and robbery with a dangerous
weapon. He also has pending charges for resisting officers,possession of
marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Crimestopper President Mark Butler stated:
"We are truly appreciative of how the local media, law enforcement, the
crimestopper board, and the public have worked together in order to get
the 100th person being put back into the criminal justice system, making our
community a little bit safer. We especically appreciate Elliotts Computers
for sponsoring our Most Wanted website, The Daily Herald for the bi-weekly
Most Wanted section, and WNVN for the periodic Most Wanted spots on
television."
Crimestopper Coordinator Bruce Temple
states: "The 100th person captured was significant. Mr. Harry has a lengthy
criminal record that includes 25 convictions for drug, weapon, and assault
charges.Halifax County Crimestoppers has truly contributed to our public
safety in Halifax County. The program has contributed to solving everything
from murders to utility theft. I would also like to thank our financial
supporters, especially The United Way, who has worked hand in hand with us
for years."
