The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of a dirt bike stolen out of a storage area located in the Sam Powell Dairy Road area on August 21st. A second dirt bike was stolen and recovered on the Hwy 48 area. Investigators believe that the suzuki motorcycle is still in the area and want your help in locating the bike and offender(s). If anyone has knowledge of someone that possessed the two motorcycles this past week, please call Crimestoppers 583-4444. 

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the breaking/entering and larceny of firearms at a residence on Whitley Road, Enfield, on Thursday night 7/31/08. The suspect(s) broke out a window to the home to gain entry. The following property was stolen: (1) Browning 7MM rifle with a "Hunter" model woodstock, (1) "Zeiss" black scope for the rifle, (1) "Target" stainless Mini 14 rifle with a laminated stock with gray color in the stock, (1) "Sworski" scope, (1) Remington 700 series rifle with a "weaver" scope, and a money jar with approximately $200 in coins.
 
          We anticipate that the thief has attempted to sell this unique combination of guns. If they tried to sell them to you,let us know who they are!  Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward in this case   583-4444.

 

Between July 4th and July 7th person(s) unknown entered the fence at the school bus garage on Hwy 301 in Halifax and stole several cadillic converters and broke into two vans and stole several Makita saws and drills. Anyone with information regarding this crime can call the Halifax Crime Stoppers at 252-583-4444.
 

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of several items from a vehicle in the Lake View Park area on July 2nd, in the late night hours. The items taken included a Sig Sauer .380 pistol, a Jimenez Arms .380 pistol, a Cobra radar detector, two boxes of .380 ammunition, an LED flashlight, a Tom Tom GPS unit, a Wrist Rocket slingshot, a two liter bottle containing steel balls, and a machete with a black plastic handle with a leather holder.

 
           We suspect that the thief has attempted to sell these distinguishing items. If anyone knows of someone that has this property,please call Crimestoppers @ 583-4444. 

 


The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the residential break in of a home in the Reynolds Circle area of Roanoke Rapids, that occurred on July 4th or 5th. The items stolen included: a Remmington 300 altra mag with scope, a Browning 9 mm, a Remmington sportsman 12 gauge shotgun, Remmington .270 caliber Gamemaster pump shotgun, a Winchester 20 gauge shotgun, a Remmington 22 rifle (chrome), a Colt 45 pistol, assorted coins, and a Cannon A530 camera.
I n the reference to the report of theft that occurred in Lakeview Park, it is also noted that other thefts took place in the Morgan Drive area.

The Halifax County Sheriffs is investigating the breaking and entering of a home on Van Warren Road, Roanoke Rapids between the dates of 6/4/08 and 6/18, 2008. The theives took a stainless steel microwave, stainless steel dishwasher,stainless steel refrigerator, and a stainless steel stove. If anyone knows of anyone that has possession of this property, we would ask you to call crimestoppers.     

 

The Halifax County Office is investigating the theft of a "Hummel" floor sander from a residence in the Poe Creek Drive area of Littleton. The theft occurred between June 17th and June 19th 2008. If anyone knows of who may have been trying to sell this item since the theft,please call Crimestoppers!  

On May 12th 2008 person(s) unknown broke into Brawley Middle School outside Scotland Neck. The drinks and nab machine was also broken into. A considerable amount of damage was done.

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the breaking and entering,larceny, and damage to property to drink machines located at Forestress Wood Products, located on Hwy 301 in Enfield. The crime occurred between 7 pm on June 17th and 8 a.m. June 18th. No money was taken, however several hundred dollars worth of damage was reported

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the breaking and entering of "The Resettlement Cafe", on HWY 561, Tillery N.C. The building was forcibly entered in the rear on June 6th late at night, or June 7th in the morning. A small amount of damage was done during ther break-in.   The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the 6/17/08 robbery of a resident in the Easton Street area of Roanoke Rapids. At approximately 9:15 p.m. a black female in her 20's,described as attractive, light completed,wearing capri pants and flowered shirt, came to the residence. As the female was talking to the victim, two black males approached and demanded money. One of the men had a handgun,which was used to strike the victim several times. The men robbed the victim of an undisclosed amount of cash before they ran on foot to a nearby white SUV, described as possibly being an older model tahoe or suburban.
 
      Male number 1 is described as short with long hair in some type of cornrows, dark complextion, in his 20's.
 
     The second male  was described as very tall,wearing a mask, and holding the gun. 
 
      We feel as though someone out there knows who these people could be, even if they are not aware of the crime.

 

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of a 1968 Chevy  flatbed farm truck, that had a large plastic water tank attached. The vehicle was parked off of Hwy 48 near Lonnie B. Green Road. When the suspect took the truck, they struck a utility pole, knocking it down. The truck has poor condition brakes and doesn't need to be on a roadway. The theft occurred on Tuesday 5/27 at night or early Wednesday morning. If anyone has information about this case,call Crimestopppers @ 583-4444

The Weldon Police Department is investigating the May 29th incident where a rock was thrown through a front window at the Grant Park Laundry. Damage was done to the register but nothing was taken.

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a residential break in and larceny that occurred on 5/16/08 on Washington Avenue in Weldon. A witness observed a white car in the yard during the time of the late afternoon theft. A black DVD/VCR player was stolen from the house along with some men's clothing. If anyone has information about this case,please call Crimestoppers! 

 

  The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a residential arson and breaking and entering that occurred on May 7th in the Maple Street extension in Weldon. The rental property was found to been broken into from the rear door. A bathroom in the home was found to have evidence of an apparent arson attempt. The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating two church break ins that occurred late night or early morning hours on 4/19/08. The Mt. Olive Baptist Church on Rock House Road, Littleton and Springfield Baptist Church were both victims of breaking and entering. The Mt. Olive Church had nothing stolen, however extensive damage was done to the door and door frame. The Springfield Church had a small amount of change stolen. The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of a pig cooker from a hunting club off of Hwy 48 near Hollister, which occurred between 4/6 and 4/13/08. The black cooker is described as being black in color, small tires, with a spare tire bolted to it, round drum, one smoke stack, and is considered a "Mini-cooker", approximately 4 foot long, two foot wide.     On 3/26/2008 The Halifax County Sheriff's Office was called to Smith Dr. in Roanoke Rapids in reference to a shooting. Deputy Keeton was the responding officer along with Det. Roy Rooks. The officers learned that a black Saturn with a female and a male came down the path near the victims’ home and opened fire striking a 1982 Chevy Camero . The suspects fired a shotgun several times at a crowd of people. No one was injured during the shooting. The Sheriff’s Office is currently following up on information given by witnesses. It is fortunate that no one was injured. If anyone has any information about this shooting they are asked to call Halifax Co. Crime Stoppers.  

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Monday 3/24/08 at 9:12 p.m. at "Nana's Quick Mart" on Hwy 48, Roanoke Rapids. Two suspects approached the store owner in the parking lot and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money. One man had two handguns, the other a shotgun. A shot was fired in the air by one of the suspects during the robbery. the men fled on foot. A K-9 was called and followed a track behind the store and across the street to Heritage Lane and Bennett Lane. The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating an Arson that occurred on 3/6/08 on Johnson Mill Pond Road, Littleton. An abandoned property was set on fire and was started in the rear of the residence. The house was visible from the road. At approximately 7:40 p.m. a car was seen leaving the area, traveling towards Roper Springs Road. If anyone has information in this case please call Crimestoppers at 583-4444.  

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the breaking and entering of a garage located on Woodcock Road, located in the Littleton lake area. Items taken included: large tool boxes and tools labeled with "Snap-on" and "Mac" , John Deer riding lawn mower, two (2) push mowers, three (3) weedeaters "Homlite" and "Weedeater" brands, a refrigerator, "Mac" impact wrench,"Peavey" speaker boxes, and "Marshall" speakers. The items are worth several thousand dollars. The crime occurred between September 1rst 2007 and March 12th, 2008.  If anyone has information about this large scale theft, we ask you to call Crimestoppers at 583-4444!

 

Crimestoppers is offering a reward in the case. In addition, the owner is also offering a $1000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect(s).
On 02/25/2008 Mr. Benson returned home to find his shop had been broken into, and his motorcycles missing. The suspect(s) entered in through a window that they broke out. Once inside they damaged the roll up garage door in the process of removing the following off road motorcycle, 1 Honda CR 125 off road motorcycle (red&white), and a Honda 85 off road motorcycle (red&White) were removed from the shed.

    Crimestoppers is offering a reward in the case. In addition, the owner is also offering a $1000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect(s). A third motorcycle was also taken, a 2006 yamaha 125 dirt nike, blue in color


 



 

 

 

The Halifax County Sheriffs office is investigating the recent breaking and entering of a storage building and theft of several items. The theft occurred in the Mallard Drive area in Littleton with the following items taken: A red 2003 honda four wheeler TRX-250,  1994 honda motorcycle XR-200 , honda 100 motorcycle, 1994 honda XR-100 motorcycle, one red,white, and black colored helmet, Homelite pressure washer, Homelite leaf blower, Poulan weedeater, Sears weedeater, and two (2) Homelite chainsaws. All three motorcycles had white tanks with blue and red stickers.

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a suspicious fire that occurred at 82 Melody Lane, Roanoke Rapids on January 21rst around 6:30 p.m. The Davie Fire department responded to the home which was fully engulfed. The house was not occupied at the time and did not have power. The house is a total loss. A witness described a "short" black male kicking in the front door, entering the home, then exiting in a hurry on a s.u.v with colors of red and or gray.  The S.B.I Arson unit responded with the Sheriffs Office for further investigation. The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of large amounts of copper wire, a blue in color rolling battery charger, and a yellow in color hand held grinder from what was known as the "Bland Welding" on Greenstreet in Weldon. During the theft of the copper, a significant amount of damage was done accessing the copper, thus damaging the electical system. The crime occurred sometime in November or December 2007. Weldon Police Department would like to speak with a person of interest, Troy Lee Banks, black male, 32 year of age of Northampton County, Pleasant Hill area that frequents the Weldon area. 
On 12-27-2007 at 2:41pm, the Weldon ABC Store located at 17 West 3rd Street was robbed. The suspect entered the store wearing a gray sweat shirt hoodie, dark color pants, and sneakers, with a white cloth across his mouth.  The suspect demanded money from the clerk and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of US currency.  If there is anyone with information please the contact the Halifax County Crime Stoppers at 252-583-4444 or the Weldon Police Department at 252-536-3136.  Caller can remain anonymous.

 

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of several copper gutters from the Halifax County Schools office on Hwy 301,Halifax. A total of (10) ten twenty foot long drain spouts were removed from the perimeter of the building. The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of a substantial amount of copper wire, aluminum, and assorted car rims from a residence on Medoc Mountain Road in Enfield. The property was being stored in a storage shed that was forcibly entered. Approximately 5000 pounds of material were stolen. As the Sheriffs Office continues to investigate then theft, we would ask that if anyone knows who may have this property, please call Crimestoppers.

 
    In similar cases, thieves know that we check local recycle centers and they may hold onto the stolen property themselves for a period of time. We hope that someone out there knows of someone hiding this type of property and will call us! 583-4444

 

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating an armed robbery that took place at an apartment on Pinewood Road, Roanoke Rapids. The victim was actually repairing a vacant apartment when two black males entered the unsecured apartment, one of which was brandishing a black 9MM handgun. The robbers were wearing dark clothes and navy colored ski mask with holes cut in the eyes and mouth.The males had gloves on as well. The suspect without a gun appeared to be 14 or 15 years old,thin build. The gunman was medium built. The men stole a small amount of  money from the victims wallet as well as a cell phone.
 
                     Deputy's responded and initiated a I-9 track which lead them from Pinewood Road to the traintracks behind Colonial Drive. The evidence would suggest that the suspects then got onto a four wheeler and drove away. One of the suspects had on rebook tennis shoes.

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a breaking,entering, and larceny at Basnight & Co. building supplies on Hwy 301 Weldon. The thief entered by breaking glass out of the front door. the only items stolen were a red and  black circular saw and a green 12 volt 3/8' drill/flashlight combo.


The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a November 5th report of a victim stating that they were at their Peacock Lane, Hobgood residence when he heard loud banging at the door. The victim was near the door when a gunshot was fired through the front door,striking the victim in the leg. The victim managed to exit the home through another door and hide in a wooded area. The perpetrators did enter the home throught he front door and eventually exited the rear door to the home (in the victims opinion) looking for the victim. Four to five black males were involved and they were seen gettting in to a small dark colored car,possibly a honda or toyota. The car was seen driving north towards Scotland Neck.
 
     It was later determined that a shotgun was used to shoot the doorlock for entry and assault the victim. If anyone has information about this crime, please call Halifax County Crimestoppers @ 583-4444!
 

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating an influx of "All terrain" vehicle thefts in the area. The Sheriffs Office has investigated several thefts this year, however between November 9th and 12th, four (4) four wheelers have been stolen . The four wheelers have been stolen from the areas of Littleton and Roanoke Rapids. Owners report that they have been secured by chains or stored in sheds that are broken into. the description of the last four stolen are:

 
(1) 2001 Honda TRX 350, green  in color, with black racks attached to the front and rear. A grey in color box was affixed to the rear of the four wheeler.
 
(1)  2005 Honda 650 , black and silver in color. The tires are 26" mud ITP tires,with a "V" shaped treads.
 
(1) 2007 Honda "Foreman" 500, green in color. There was no key stolen with this.
 
(1) 2001 Honda "Recon", tan in color with a torn spot on the seat.
 
 
        The Sheriffs Office would ask the public to take precaution with their own property. Unfortunately, a lock and chain isn't the answer anymore. Communicate with neighbors and report suspicious activity. The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a breaking and entering that occurred on October 18th at a hunting club off of Justice Branch Road, Littleton. Several camper trailers were forcibly entered with the following items stolen:

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a theft that took place at Piney Grove Baptist Church, located on Piney Grove Church Road. The thieves damaged two air conditioning units as they stole the aluminum coils and copper tubing. The church property was last known secure on Thursday October 11th at 9 p.m. The theft was found on Saturday morning, October 13th.
 
 In terms of crime prevention, we would recommend to residents who have isolated properties, to arrange for security checks by members,patrons, friends, or other appropriate people in order to locate suspicious activity and deter theft.

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of items from a storage shed in the area of Justice Branch Road of Littleton. The theft occurred between 8/7/07 and 9/24/07. The stolen property consisted of: A Honda EM generator, model # EM5000 SXH 2, it is red in color with a diamond shaped emblum with three "C"'s on it in. The emblum's colors are red,black, and white. The second stolen item was a one man auger and blade. The auger was red in color and the blade was black. The blade had dirt on it. The theft would have taken more than one person to complete.

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a series of thefts from a cotton warehouse in the Weldon area. On 8/25/07 a "Pacmaster" plasma cutter was stolen. The cutter is a welder type instrument used to cut steel. It is black and grey in color with red and yellow writing on it. This equipment needs to have an air compressor to be used. If anyone has seen this unique item, please call Crimestoppers @ 583-4444. 

The Halifax County Sheriffs office is investigating a breaking and entering from a local construction company where a Hewlett Packard computer and flat screen monitor. The computer was very unique in having a blue in color face panel with "AMD ATHLONXPMSI MAIN BOARD" on the front panel of the computer and under the floppy disk space is spells "COMPUTER GUY".
 
     This theft occurred on the night of August 14th. We suspect that the thieves have attempted to sell it thus exposing people to this unique item. If anyone knows who has this computer,please call Crimestoppers @ 583-4444

LONG TIME BUSINESS OWNER “SAMBO” WEST HAS HAD HIS SHOP (West & Son’s) VANDALIZED.  ON TOP OF THAT A CUSTOM BUILD AND PAINT JOB DONE BY HIM FOR REDWINE’S GARAGE WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED.  THE SUSPECT WAS DROPPED OFF IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING AND WAS SEEN THROWING SOME TYPE OF LIQUID ON THE VEHICLE PARTS.  THIS DESTROYED THE PAINT AND DAMAGED THE RIG AS A HOLE.  THE SUSPECT IS A WHITE MALE ON A WHITE PICK- UP TRUCK.  “SAMBO” IS OFFERING $1000.00 REWARD TO ANYONE WITH INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARRESTED OF THE SUSPECT

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of items that took place between 9:30 pm and 5 am  8/22/07. A "massey ferguson" red in color trailer with a heavy duty chasis with a farm type hitch, containing a "Miller Matic" weldor/generator, cutting torchs ( green and yellow in color) and a faded red in color air tank, were stolen from farm land in the Melton Bridge Road area of Whitakers.

On May 25, 2005 Mr. Henry Grant reported his utility trailer stolen from 700 Washington Avenue, Weldon. The trailer has a single axle, blue in color, it is approximately twenty two feet long and has a tall gate. The trailer has a 1 7/8 ball hookup or attachment and was made in 1950.The Weldon Police Department is investigating,



 

 

 

 

The statue was stolen 10 days ago from

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a shooting that took place on Thursday June 13th in the area of 11th street and Sycamore in Weldon at approximatly 9:30 p.m. A car occupied by several females was traveling on 11th street when shots were fired. A group of men were seen in the area as well as other foot traffic.

    After leaving the area, the driver of the car found that her tire was flat and the car had been struck by a projectile in the fender.
    The deputies responded to the area but were unable to locate any witnesses.

 

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the breaking,entering and larceny at the A.M.V.E.T.S building on W. 10th Street on 5/25/07. The suspect(s) damaged the building and stole bush and budlight beer and small bags of potato chips. If anyone remembers someone having these items together,please call Crimestoppers 583-4444

 

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft and burning of a 2003 white chevy tahoe, that took place on March 28th 2007. The vehicle was taken from the residence of Michael "Bennie" Davis on HWY 48 and  found later on Robin Drive in a wooded area. The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a breaking/entering and larceny on Lincoln Street in Lincoln Heights, where a Samsung  MP-3 Player and an X-Box 360 were stolen. This was committed on Wednesday  5/2/07 during the afternoon

 

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a theft of a 14 ft. aluminum "John boat" from the Hwy 48 area sometime during the week of 4/30/07. the boat is described as green with an unpainted interior,three benches, with two old plastic swivel seats.  The thief/thieves, were last seen pulling the boat with a white ford truck

The Halifax County Crimestoppers are investigating the theft of several fern plants from a local nursery, that took place saturday April 7th. If anyone knows of anyone who wouldn't normally have several fern plants, but did have some for sale, please call Crimestoppers!  

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a theft of several items at a construction site on HWY 903 Roanoke Rapids. The following iterms were stolen: (1) storm door, cooper piping from under the house,luver attic fan cover, 12 ft. extension ladder, and a wheel barrell. The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of a 2006 black and orange Kawasawki ninja motorcycle from the Hollister area.It was stolen during the weekend of Jan 27th. If anyone has information aboutn this,please call crimestoppers 583-4444

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of a green "Stealth" outdoor infared camera and a lock on tree stand from property located on HWY 158 West of Roanoke Rapids on Jan 21rst or 22nd. If anyone tried to sell you these items together,please call us!!!

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of a generator from a home on Justice Branch road on January 10th. The honda EU 3000 generator is described as red with black trim, 24 watt, built in a case, and runs very quiet. Crimestoppers is offering a reward in the case!

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of several items from a new mobile home that was being stored in the HWY 158 area of Roanoke Rapids. The stolen items include: G.E. stove and refrigerator, a bathroom and kitchen faucette, a piece of 4x8 sheet rock, linoleum tile and two doors. The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a theft of items reported on Monday the 18th, from a residence on HWY 258 in the Scotland Neck area. We think someone out there can help us catch the crook since the items taken are: A 32 inch LCD t.v., a knife,a motorcycle alarm device, and assorted dvd's. The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of a John Deer tractor from the Baker School Road area on 12/1/06. The tractor and bush hog were both taken from a field and taken to the HWY 258 area. If anyone saw anyone suspicious or knows who has the property,please call Crimestoppers @ 583-4444.

 

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of several items in the Grapevine road area in Halifax on thursday November 30th. The items include: (1) bosch hammer drill,(1) dewalt router,(1) skill jigsaw, (1) red Honda fourwheeler, (1) army green bombardier traxter, and (1) dark green Bombardier fourwheeler. if anyone has information please call Crimestoppers

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of items from the Davie Fire Department. The theft occurred between 11/06/06 and 11/20/06. the items are described as: (2) huscavanna chainsaws, (1) dewalt reciprocating saw, (1) handheld GPS tracking system, and (1) 110 volt battery adapter. If anyone has information about the suspects or location of the property call Crimestoppers

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a homocide that took place on Friday night at approximatly 8:30 p.m. on Hobgood Road in Hobgood. The victim was Wilbert Caine, 58 years old from Scotland Neck. The Sheriffs Office responded to a call of shots being fired in the area. Further investigation revealed that two black males went to a residence of an elderly man attempting to rob him. The armed men made the man leave his residence and walk to the residence of Mr. Clifton Holiday, located next door. In a matter of seconds several shots were fired at Mr. Caine and Holiday.  Mr. Caine was fatality wounded and Mr. Holiday shot twice. Mr. Holiday was treated and released from Our Community Hospital.
 
       The suspect vehicle was observed leaving at a high rate of speed on Hobgood Road. It was described as a dark colored SUV, similiar to a cadillac escalade or ford expedition. The SUV had a chrome grill and was in very good condition. 
 
       No further details are being released at this time. We would encourage the public to call the Sheriffs Office or Halifax County Crimestoppers at (252) 583-4444, if you have information in the case or an idea of who may have been associated with this vehicle. 

The Halifax County Crimestoppers are offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest in the 10/12/06 home invasion case on Froglevel Drive. The suspects were seen getting into a car afterwards on W. 10th street described as a full size, older model car, dark in color with a primer colored door panel on the passenger side. the car could have been a cadillac. The three suspects are described as two black males with possible asian accents and a light complextioned black or asian male. If anyone recognizes the car description and can associate it with occupants,please call Crimestoppers!!

 

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a breaking,entering, and larceny that occurred on the weekend of 11/10/06 and 11/13/06 in the HWY 903 area of Littleton. We suspect that the thieves have tried to sell the following items:
washing machine
dryer
light fixter
32 inch t.v.
two couches
a "Lanzar" cd player
a "Lanzar" amplifier
2 15 inch speakers

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the theft of a large outdoor central air unit from a storage facility on HWY 158 on 10/10/06. The unit is a four ton "Miller Nordyne". If you know of anyone recently getting a "deal" on a unit such as this,please call Crimestoppers

 

Halifax County Crimestoppers is offering a reward in a case where a "bending brake" used for vinyl sideing was stolen in October. A pic is attached. This thief may have tried to sell it to a legitiment business within the last few weeks. Anyone having information about this case is asked to call Crimestoppers! 

 

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a BE & Larceny that took place on tuesday 9/19/06 evening in the P&J drive area of Roanoke Rapids. The items stolen were: a playstation II, single barrel shotgun, mens oval ring w/ diamonds, mens black onyx ring, and a gold link chain w/ Jesus charm.

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a home invasion that occurred off of Hwy 4 near Hollister on 9/13/06. Two black males entered the home by kicking in the backdoor.The men were armed with small caliber handguns.The first male is described as 5"8--5"9 stocky build, wearing blue jeans and a red tee-shirt. He had dread-locks about shoulder length. The second suspect was thin built 5"5, wearing a white tee-shirt and blue jeans. The two suspects also had red bandannas over thier faces.
 
   The victim was tied up with a phone cord. The suspects took money,jewelry, and guns. A vehicle was seen in the area at the time and is described as a burgandy chevy caprice, possibly an 80's model, with tintied windows and rims. The victim was home with a two month old baby at the time of robbery.

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating the breaking /entering and theft of two guitars,speakers, television, and a computer from a church on Zoo road North on Saturday night (15th). Anyone that knows of the suspects or property is asked to call Crimestoppers.

On 8/12/2006 around 10:21am officers responded to 1528 Brickell Street in Roanoke Rapids. Upon arrival it was found that the residence had been broken into, and several items were taken. In the process of the Breaking and Entering, the house was also vandalized. Anyone with information on this crime, please call the Halifax County Crimestoppers.

The Halifax County Sheriffs Office is investigating a burglary at Three Lakes Grocery on HWY 158, west of Roanoke Rapids. At approximatly 2 a.m. on July 24th a male kicked in the back door and entered. A resident heard the entry and approached the suspect, who in turn fled on foot

We have had two assaults on older white females.  They occurred on the same weekend and by black males. 
                             The first incident was at HRMC where to black males on bicycles approached and elderly female in the parking lot.  She was struck in the face and knocked down.  The two males fled w/ her purse.  The two suspects were also seen at JACK POT Bingo on the same evening appearing to case the establishment for a victim. 

Suspect One: b, m, 5’5”, 150lbs, brown eyes, black hair 

Suspect Two: b, m, 5’3”, 140lbs, brown eyes, black hair

                             The second incident occurred at the Brookwood Motel.  A black male entered the hotel room as the two females were leaving.  He jumped one and pushed her into the shower.  The second female rushed in and was stabbed in the neck.  Serious injury was incurred.  This suspect fled on foot.

Suspect One: b, m, dark skin, tall, dark clothes, close hair cut 

Weapon: armed w/ pen knife
